Danny Wilson was happy to see his side turn a strong performance into a strong result as his Spireites side ended Northampton's 31-game unbeaten run at the Proact.

Two goals from Conor Wilkinson gave the Spireites a two-goal start, and while Paul Anderson pulled one back for the Cobblers Kristian Dennis flicked home Dion Donohue's shot to confirm the home win.

"The performance was very good again," said Wilson to PlayerHD. "We've had some strong performances of late and not always turned performances into goals but we did today and possibly could have had a few more as well.

"Overall, everything you need to do to win games was there to be seen. We passed it very well, got into key areas where we scored the goals, I thought it was a good all-round performance, very strong."

With strong performances throughout the side, not least from the goalscorers, the manager pointed out some of the best showings among many.

"If I can single people out I thought Gboly (Ariyibi) was unplayable today, he's an amazing talent when he's on the front foot. Jay O'Shea was at his jinking best, there were two good performances from the two up top.

"The players all gelled together, Jon Nolan slotted in very well and then the back four speaks for itself. You don't get a result like that after the bombardment that we've had without them playing well, Ryan (Fulton) in goal as well, all-round it was a very strong performance."
