The Spireites reserves beat their Mansfield Town counterparts 4-2 away from home on Wednesday afternoon.
Chesterfield were never behind in the match played at Rainworth MW with experienced striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Laurence Maguire scoring two goals apiece.Taylor-Fletcher, who has been training with the Spireites, finished from inside the six-yard box on both occasions while Maguire's goals were both headers from Liam Graham deliveries.
Ritchie Humphreys was delighted with the result and the performance. He said: "It's always good to win and it was a really pleasing performance.
"It was a mainly young side with the addition of Gary Taylor-Fletcher. The young lads showed character and performed well. They're coming on fine."
