The Spireites will hand out 2,000 free tickets for January’s game against AFC Wimbledon to youngsters and their families involved with the Sheffield & District Junior Sunday Football League.
The initiative is part of a link-up between the FBT International Academy and the Sheffield & District Junior Sunday Football League, which includes a number of top junior clubs from the Chesterfield area. There will also be a bucket collection on the day to raise funds for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner said: “The tickets will be for the North Stand, helping to create a good atmosphere. We are keen to attract younger supporters and engage with the wider community. We would encourage other local junior leagues to get involved with the club in similar initiatives."
There will also be a discounted hospitality offer for the AFC Wimbledon match. Places in the DCJ Group Spires Restaurant will cost just £50 per person, providing guests with a three-course meal as well as a reserved padded seat in the stand.
