Boxing4Heroes handed over a cheque for £8,000 to the Spireites Community Trust at half time in Chesterfield’s game against Scunthorpe United last weekend.
The money, which was raised at a recent event staged at the Proact Stadium by Boxing4Heroes, will help the Trust with their various community activities. This includes the staging of a regular Veterans' Hub at the Proact to help ex-service personnel.
Boxing4Heroes are taking action to support Britain’s wounded ex servicemen and women by raising awareness and thousands of pounds for charities which directly benefit our troops.
A Help for Heroes Charity of the Year, Boxing4Heroes recently organised the biggest boxing event the Proact has ever staged, in support of the Community Trust.
Next May, Boxing4Heroes will stage its fourth Chesterfield show at the Proact and it promises be bigger and better in every way.
Anyone who would like to box on this show should visit the organisation’s Facebook page and register their interest by completing the sign-up form. Places are strictly limited and will be offered nearer the time on a first come, first served basis.
No previous boxing experience is necessary eight weeks of free expert boxing coaching is provided.
Shaun Grafton, who had the idea for Boxing4Heroes, said: “The boxers are trained at The Fitness Factory, which is my gym, by a team of highly-qualified boxing trainers. We’ve raised around £50,000 so far for Help for Heroes and our aim is to get to £1m.”
