Wilson: "I'm as frustrated as anybody"

Danny Wilson watched on as his side played positively and created chances - but once more came up short in terms of goals and points at Coventry City.

Dominating the openings in the first half Ched Evans and Gboly Ariyibi went close for the visitors, but second-half strikes from Jordan Willis and Andy Rose saw the Sky Blues to a 2-0 win.

"Sometimes you want to answer in an aggressive manner with quite a few expletives, and I could do that at this moment in time because I'm as frustrated as anybody," Wilson told PlayerHD after the game.

"But when I analyse this in the cold light of day tomorrow and I watch it again I'll expect a different explanation - the lads were fantastic at times.

"To come away from home and play as confidently as we did, to get on the ball as we did, to create the chances that we did; you can't ask anymore from us.

"What you can ask more from us is that we've got to stick those balls in the net and with the opportunities that we've had, you can't keep frittering them away. I keep saying, the difference is the goals at the two ends of the pitch.

"If we put the same people in the same positions next week I guarantee thay'll finish them."

The Spireites fielded an attacking team in an attacking formation, with Kristian Dennis and Ched EVans leading the line, and Wilson was happy with his attackers' contributions.

"We changed the team slightly," he said. "With Kristian joining Ched up front and Jay O'Shea in the whole in behind we had the idea that we would creat chances - and we did.

"In the first half I thought we were superb, the football that we played to get us into positions as well was excellent; from the back, the middle of the park and the into the strikers. It's just very frustrating that we didn't have any goals to show from it."
