The Chesterfield Community Trust work with nine primary schools delivering PE lesson and after school clubs in a variety of different sports.
In return, the schools are treated to player appearances, tickets to Chesterfield first team games, fundraising support and CPD events to help support teachers in their PE delivery.
The partnerships will be continuing again before the Christmas holidays and one of the latest schools to work with Chesterfield is Staveley Junior School who started working with us in September.
The Trust deliver PE lessons - working with kids from year one right up to year six - on Mondays and Tuesdays which include sessions in gymnastics, football, volleyball, athletics and table tennis.
Head teacher Sarah Wigfield has been delighted with the way the partnership has worked so far: “This term has been great, I was really impressed with both Nathan Khan and Ben Nicholson’s attitude and desire to keep the children occupied. I think this partnership is going to be very effective.”
Michael Noon from the Trust said: “It’s been fantastic building up the relationship with Staveley. All the kids were really throwing themselves into what Nathan and Ben delivered and we’re hoping that the partnership will get stronger and stronger as the year goes on.”
All schools who work with us have access to Premier League Primary Stars website which is an online resource where they can find session plans for PE lessons and after school clubs.
Teachers from all the partner schools were invited to the Scunthorpe United fixture earlier this month in the hospitality box where all the teachers received their Spireites Schools partnership certificate.
