Chesterfield Learn Checkatrade Trophy Fate

The Spireites will play away to Rochdale in the second round of this season's Checkatrade Trophy, after learning their fate in this morning's draw.

The draw took place at 10:30am live on Sky Sports News, with Chesterfield knowing they would be playing away from home after finishing second in their northern section group, behind Wolverhampton Wanderers under 21s.

The second round ties will be played in the week commencing December 5, with further details on a Spireites match date to follow.

The Spireites booked their place in the knock-out stages of the competition on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win away at Crewe Alexandra, Jay O'Shea and Connor Dimaio on the score sheet for the visitors.
