The Spirietes legends may have lost 4-6 to their younger Once Upon a Smile opponents, but it was fun all the way as the Proact raised money on behalf of Ernie Moss. The day started at midday with bouncy castles, raffles and kids' coaching sessions on the pitch, with the two teams soon arriving as the build-up to the big game soon got underway, with the day's proceeds split between Dementia UK and Once Upon a Smile.
After comedy legend Bernie Clifton had sung for the crowd, Ernie Moss himself lead the two sides out with Jack Lester and Andy Morris taking the kick-off for the Spireites legends.
The Spireites' three best chances of the half fell to Lester, but unable to put them away and after the Once Upon a Smile side had struck the wood work, the visitors took the lead through Reece Douglas, collecting his own rebound to slot home.
There was a second goal for the celebs side before the break, and things improved little after it as Dan Jillings slotted home a third.
However, the Spireites breathed hope into an unlikely comeback when a neat ball played Tom Curtis into space and he rolled back the years to drill home.
The turnaround seemed on when Mark Allott smashed home for the legends from the edge of the box, but Danny Miller restored the two goal lead two minutes later.
With the Proact crowd well into things Once Upon a Smile scored again, this time through Jake Quickenden, to make it 2-5 with ten minutes left to play.
A late Once Upon a Smile sixth was countered by a later still Jack Lester goal for the legend's third, with a fourth Spireites goal going in with the final kick of the game, 4-6 the final result in the Once Upon a Smile side's favour.
