Sunday's charity match on behalf of Ernie Moss saw a host of Spireites legends turn out at the Proact, and nineties favourites Tom Curtis and Mark Jules were among them.
They joined the likes of Steve Ogrizovic, Jamie Hewitt, Alan O'Hare, Jack Lester, Andy Morris and Bob Newton among many others treading the turf for Ernie against a team of celebs and soap stars.
Trialling 3-0 in the second half, an unlikely route back into the game was offered by Curtis who struck home a vicious angled drive, though the hosts eventually lost 6-4: "You know me," said Curtis. "I always get one a game, even if it's one every ten years now! I just smacked it as hard as I could.
"We know Ernie and he always used to come along and watch the games Mark and I played in, he's a real club legend so it's really nice to come back and support him , his family and the charities."
There were no trademark screamers from Jules, but he was pleased to be back among old friends: "Being here brings back good memories, and getting to see Tom and Andy (Morris) and some of the older ones is always good. "
"Even though some are a bit older than us we've always seen each other down the years and they're proper legends. It's great to come back for such a good cause."
