After suffering a worrying blow to the head in the first half of Sunday's match with Bradford City, centre-back Tom Anderson is making a good recovery.A clash with a Bantams attacker saw Anderson briefly lose conciousness and spend over five minutes on the Valley Parade turf receiving medical attention from ambulance staff and the Spireites' medical team.
Anderson left the field on a stretcher, the defender was transferred to hospital at half time for precautionary tests.
Rodger Wylde, the club's head of sports science and medicine, spoke of the injury: "Tom's injury was observed at hospital and he also had an X-ray on his neck to ensure everything was okay.
"He was soon released and is no longer in any danger. We will continue to observe Tom and ensure his progress is as it should be - using the proper guidelines - but with the season now at an end he has the freedom to make a steady recovery."
