Jordan Slew's first half goal secured another victory for the Spireites reserve team as they recorded a 1-0 win away at a strong Hartlepool United side. The win was the Spireites' fourth consecutive success and Slew's 24th minute strike - a rapid shot after a quick turn on the edge of the penalty area - was his sixth goal in his four reserve team outings.
Chris Herd and Charlie Raglan also made their latest steps as they recover from hip and hernia injuries, with a number of youth team players also in the mix during the match played at Billingham Town FC.
Ritchie Humphreys gave his view after the match: "It was a good individual goal from Jordan, a powerful goal that shows the sort of abilities he has.
"Otherwise, the performance wasn't as good as we've had in other matches recently, but we're learning to win matches even when we're not playing at our best.
"We had leaders on the pitch, which was pleasing, as well as five youth team lads by the end of the game - and they slotted in nicely against what was a strong Hartlepool team.
"The most important thing was that we found a way to win, and on top of that we secured another away win with a clean sheet, so all-in-all it was a very pleasing afternoon."
