As part of the new partnership with the Sheffield & District Junior League, the Chesterfield FC Player Progression Pathway will be hosting the ‘Champions Cup’ tournament at the Proact on May 28/29/30.
It will be a five-a-side tournament for age groups from under-7s to under-16s and will be for amateur football clubs only.
Alongside the tournament, there will be fun activities around the stadium such as raffles, face-painting and media interviews with participating players and managers, plus much more!
Liam Sutcliffe, head of the Player Progression Pathway, said: “This will be a huge event, bringing teams from around the area together to play in the tournament. It will be a celebration of grassroots football and encourage enjoyment of the game for children.”
The tournament will consist of 14 teams for each age group, with each side able to register seven or eight players to their team. There will be an entry fee of £25 per team, which must be paid by April 29.
Clubs must register their team before April 29 and provide birth certificates or league registration cards on the day. They can also enter multiple teams per age group.
There will be free entry for spectators and everybody will receive a free programme.
To register a team, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. As well as receiving an application form to confirm participation, those registering will receive a welcome pack which includes information on how the tournament will run and the schedules for each age group.
