All fans who are 80 or older at the start of the 2016/17 season are now being offered a free season ticket, and Peter Makin was one of the first to take advantage of the offer.
Peter, who is from Brimington, has been following the Spireites for around 65 years and he has fond memories from his time supporting the club.
He said: “I used to love going to watch players like George Smith and Ray Middleton. I remember Stanley Milburn and Tommy Flockett being good players for us, too.”
When hearing about the new season ticket initiative, Peter was delighted. He added: “This is a really good idea. It is a nice club and this scheme proves it.”
Those who qualify for a free season ticket should visit the ticket office from Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm), with a form of photo ID which shows their date of birth.
Peter, who will celebrate his 80th birthday in June, is pictured with manager Danny Wilson after calling in at the Proact to claim his free season ticket.
