Ian Evatt is targetting a return to training in pre-season after learning that he will need further time to recover from his Achilles injury.
The centre-back has been missing since before Christmas with the injury and had been hoping to hear good news this week about his progress.
However, a specialist in London has assessed Evatt's injury and said that the 34-year-old needs longer in his protective boot to ensure he fully recovers from the injury.
Evatt spoke after hearing the news: "I'm gutted, I felt I was progressing well and had been stepping-up with the rehab work.
"Yesterday, we expected to get the all-clear to step-up the rehab even more, but unfortunately the scans showed that the are area still hasn't healed properly. The specialist has advised that I go back into the boot for a number of weeks.
"It means I have a long summer ahead of me with work to do, but I will be doing all I can to get fit and ready for the start of next season."
