The youth team have confirmed their pre-season program of matches as they prepare for the upcoming Youth Alliance League season, which starts on August 6.
While the following list is subject to change, it is expected to be the schedule, with all games to be played away from home.
July 8: Sheffield United Development Squad
July 12: Notts County
July 16: Sheffield United
July 19: Walsall
July 26: Long Eaton
July 28: Heanor Town
August 9: Sheffield FC
Academy manager Mark Smith spoke about the pre-season program and his thoughts behind selecting the right opposition teams for his side to come up against.
He said: "The thinking is slightly different from this time last year, when we played a lot of over-age teams, I didn't think that worked ultimately and we weren't able to get out of it what we had wanted to.
"This year we've gone for a little bit of mixture, playing against some of our own age group at places like Notts County, Walsall and Sheffield United, then playing over-age games against Long Eaton, Heanor Town and possibly Sheffield FC, if they put out an older team.
"There is also a warm-up game to get us back and into things against Sheffield United's development side."
Smith went on to explain why all the games are being played at away venues: "We're still sorting out our home venue for the new season, and we've chosen the teams we're up against in pre-season for teams that will give us a good challenge, while being mindful of the distances.
"They're also teams with good facilities, which is good for pre-season until our league schedule starts properly in August."
