Danny Wilson has added to his backroom staff with the appointment of Matt Duke as the club's new goalkeeping coach.

Duke joins the Spireites as a replacement for Mark Crossley, who left the club last month to become Notts County's assistant manager.

The 39-year-old spent last season at Alfreton following a 15-year league career which included a spell in the Premier League with Hull City. He also helped Bradford City defy the odds to reach the League Cup final in 2013.

Wilson is pleased to have filled the void created by Crossley's departure. He said: "Matt has had a terrific career so he will have the respect of the keepers he works with.  I think he has a great future ahead of him as a goalkeeping coach and it should be a seamless transition as he replaces Mark Crossley."

Duke is delighted to have been given the chance to embark on a coaching career with Chesterfield. "It's a new chapter in my career and I'm really excited about the challenge," he said. "I'm joining a fantastic football club and I can't wait for the season to start."
