A brace of Ricky German headers saw the Spireites youth team win 2-1 away at Lincoln City in stormy conditions on Saturday.
Both goals came from Tom Marshall assists and after the Imps pegged the visitors back after half time a second German header was enough for Chesterfield to claim the points.
Academy manager Mark Smith was enthused by the result: "It was a good win and we did well considering the testing conditions. In many ways they were throwback conditions with the game played on a bit of a mud bath.
"As much as was possible we tried to play football and it was good to see the players doing the basics right, in truth the scoreline should have looked better than just 2-1.
"The goals were both set pieces and came from good deliveries, that's an important part of the game and something we work on with the lads so it's nice when the plans come together.
"It's an excellent result and we'll march on from here."
