The Chesterfield youth team make their Youth Alliance Cup bow on Friday morning, as they take on Notts County at home.
The match at Clay Cross kicks-off at 11am, with fans invited along to watch the contest.
Ahead of the match, academy manager Mark Smith gave his take: "We hope to get as far as we can, we know that again it will be a difficult game but we have looked decent recently so I am quietly confident that we'll be able to put in a good performance.
"We have a confidence about us and that's been borne out through the results, and also some of the performances.
"We know that we've got goals in us, our problem has been stopping goals going in at the other end. We've been able to do what we've been trying to do so far this season and have only really been beaten badly are against men's teams.
"What's pleasing is that we've recently not been shipping as many goals and that's a trend we want to see continue against Notts County."
The Spireites have no new injury worries after Saturday's win at Rotherham United
, meaning that just Connor Fowler and George Lynam remain sidelined.
