Joe introduced himself and gave a bit of background to his Spireites introduction to football: "I'm 28-years-old, Chesterfield born and bred and really excited to be taking over the role as Peak FM's new Chesterfield commentator.
"Growing up in the town, Chesterfield was the first place I ever went to watch a game. I can't actually remember my first game, my dad took me when I was four or five to Saltergate and all I can remember is playing football with plastic cups on the Kop.
"I wasn't tall enough to actually see the game because the pitch was so far above the stand. I can just remember the smell of Bovril and cigarettes, because you could smoke inside the ground then, and falling in love - after that I wanted to go to Chesterfield games week-in week-out.
Joe has worked away from Chesterfield in recent years as he's got his commentating career moving, but he's now happy to be back and covering his local side.
"Journalism is a very tough industry to get into," he explained. "It's one of the top jobs to be a commentator at your home town club. It's been a long road, working behind the scenes at different radio stations, then getting the opportunity at some non-league games.
"After that I've been covering a lot of Yorkshire clubs in the past two years. There's not been much opportunity to watch Chesterfield, apart from when the opposition have been playing them.
"Now I'm really excited to watch the Spireites again on a weekly basis. I can't wait to get started."
