After six weeks on loan with Bury, Spireites midfielder Dan Gardner has returned to the Proact Stadium after being recalled early by boss Danny Wilson.
Gardner made six appearances for the Shakers and celebrated a birthday while away, coming back as a 26-year-old ready and eligible to go for the Spireites' trip to Swindon Town on Saturday.
Danny Wilson outlined the reasons behind the recall: "From our point of view he needed to get some games and he did - not enough I have to say - he came off the bench and has been on and off but at least he's been getting minutes on the pitch.
"I just feel now and going into these next three games an extra addition with a little bit of an extra spark is just what we need, and Dan will certainly give us that.
"He will be involved [on Saturday], there's no doubt about it."
Wilson explained the difficulty in choosing between his attacking players and their importance in turning the tide during a close match.
"We've tried one or two other things," said the manager. "Some have worked, some haven't. In terms of bringing Dan back, using him as an example, he's a very talented lad but sometimes you can't play everyone together.
"Our position in the league shows why we've been very resolute in our approach sometimes - but you still need that player with a little bit of a magic wand to do something out of the ordinary and with Dan he can produce that."
