On Wednesday afternoon (2pm kick-off) the Spireites look to strengthen their position at the top of the Final Third Development league (East) with a trip to Grimsby Town.

After last week's 4-0 success at Scunthorpe United hoisted the Spireites to the top of the table, Ritchie Humphreys' men now face the Mariners.

Humphreys spoke of the differences when setting up a reserve team: "When you prepare for a first-team game you will have scouted the opposition, knowing their strengths and with a plan of how to stop their best players.

"It's different with the reserves because that's not possible. Teams change quickly with recovering injured players and youth players coming in and altering the outlook of a side.

"As such, we prepare the same way for every game, focusing on ourselves and what we want to achieve with the best ways to try and beat oppositions.

"It will be a similar situation as recently tomorrow with some older players meshing with members of the youth team. It's worked really well recently and we're hoping for that to continue."
