Later than usual, the Spirietes squad today gathered to have their official team photo taken for the fledgling 2015/16 Sky Bet League 1 season.
For Dean Saunders' first team shoot as Spireites manager the photo was put back until the players coming in and going out had been confirmed and the finished squad could be assembled.
Then, with the photo scheduled for Monday of this week, the dark clouds intervened to wash-out the plans and the afternoon.
Today the clouds behaved and club photographer Tina Jenner was finally able to line-up the troops and capture the moment sure to hang on many a bedroom wall this season.
Tina explained how the photo came around and the complications she has to consider: "There was rain on Monday, and it was even dark driving into the Proact today, so we managed to sneak in under the radar today and get it done.
"It's better than it being a really sunny day, because then you get too many shadows but then you want enough light to be able to see them - though if it's raining even a little bit and you're using your flash that causes problems. It's better to wait until the conditions are right."
Having been behind the camera for well over a decade Tina revealed that looking back on her previous efforts she sees things others perhaps wouldn't,
"I look at the ones I've done now and can see better and worse ones," she said. "The ones at Saltergate were difficult because the stand made it difficult with the angles.
"The thing that's hard to look out for is that no one's pulling a funny face or anything - and you can never spot everything and there's always one.
"Blinking's not too bad because people don't tend to look at the individual faces up close, you could Photoshop in their eyes from another frame in drastic circumstances but it's usually better to let it go as it's part of the history of that particular team."
