After the culmination of his loan spell at Bristol Rovers, Spireites 'keeper Aaron Chapman is back at the club and back in training.

The 25-year-old kept three clean sheets for the Pirates during his time at the Memorial Stadium and Spireites goalkeeping coach Mark Crossley thinks the games will have helped he player.

"He did really well, he only conceded two goals in five games," said Crossley. "Now we're pleased to have him back and in training - he's looked sharp today and I think going away's done him the world of good.

"It was ideal really, and now he's adding to the competition for places."

Crossley went on to explain the value of playing in competitive matches, especially when playing between the posts.

"As a goalkeeper you need to be playing football matches, otherwise you can lose that little bit of sharpness. You can train all week long but at the end of the week if you're not playing you can get a bit frustrated.

"That was the idea, to send him out on loan and get him playing some games. Now he's back and we'll decide where he goes from here."
