Inspire Media Academy's second Sports Media Workshop is being held in The HUB at the Proact this coming Thursday and only one place remains! The one-day workshop has been devised to give youngsters who are interested in pursuing a career in sports media an insight into the industry.
Areas covered on the day include sports news writing, match reporting, interview skills and match commentary. A mock press conference will also be staged, giving those attending an opportunity to interview a Spireites personality.
Attendees will also be invited into the press box at a future first-team fixture at the Proact, where they will be presented with a certificate and a DVD featuring their commentary on a goal at the workshop!
The following feedback was received from the father of one aspiring journalist following the inaugural workshop: "I would like to say that he thoroughly enjoyed the day and learnt a lot. The day was a great balance of relevant content, interactive exercises and feedback.
"The workshop content gave an excellent grounding in some of the elements associated with modern day sports reporting and the ever changing media channels that exist. In a relaxed environment within great surroundings the participants took part in some very relevant practical exercises that was truly representative of what a sports reporter would do today.
"I would strongly recommend anyone with an interest in sports media consider this workshop. They will leave the day having learnt a lot and with excellent insight into the world of sports journalism."
