A Parents Committee, headed by local businessman Rockie White of local building firm, A-Rock Construction, has been formed to help raise vital funds for the academy.
Together with a fellow parent, Adam Stevenson of MBS Building, the pair will help to arrange various events and fundraising throughout the season, in addition to being a representative for other parents at the academy to discuss any issues or ideas they may have,
Spireites director Chris Breeze said: "I am delighted that Rockie and Adam have come on board to help, as we have tried for some time to launch a Parents Committee. Within a matter of weeks, Rockie has already sourced and secured a substantial amount of corporate sponsorship, so I am really pleased.
"Together with our existing fundraiser, Mick Beddiingham, I think the committee will be successful in helping reduce the shortfall that the football club have to find each year (around £70,000), which will be vital for sustaining the academy and giving us a platform to develop the players of the future."
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact the academy administration manager, John Knapper, on 01246 269300 (ext 4201).
