Members of the public can experience the benefits of using the impressive hydrotherapy pool in The HUB at the Proact Stadium, which has been sponsored by DCJ Group Insurance and Risk Management.
With an underwater treadmill to set for running as well as water jets to allow users to swim continuously in the relatively small space, the pool is used by members of the Chesterfield squad and can also be booked by people for a variety of uses.
It is currently used by people recovering from operations, autistic children who are unable to face the noise and disruption of a public swimming pool, those with a variety of arthritic and other chronic conditions and some who just want to swim in a private environment.
Spireites star Gary Roberts described some of the benefits he and his team-mates experience from using the hydrotherapy pool. He said: "It's a great facility to have for our lads who are playing a lot of games.
"You can set the recovery to different paces and how strong the water is coming at you. It's really good for you and I get a lot of use out of it, being over 30 now."
Community Trust chief John Croot points out that having such a facility available to members of the public outlines the benefit of the partnership between the club and the Trust. "The pool really emphasises it more than anything else," he said. "It's got a great number of service users and organisations such as local schools, physios, disability groups and of course the players as well - the first team come in after most games and use the treadmill to warm down."
DCJ Group managing director Chris Breeze said: "When we were approached to fund the cost of installing the hydrotherapy pool, we were delighted to help out as it is a fantastic facility for the club and the local community."
