Young Spireites defender Ashley Carter has extended his loan move from Wolverhampton Wanderers until the conclusion of Chesterfield's play-off run.The 19-year-old centre back's loan spell was due to end after Sunday's match with Sheffield United, but has now been extended until May 24.
The agreement means that Carter will now be able to feature in the Spireites' two play-off semi-finals and, if Chesterfield are able to reach it, the final at Wembley.
The left-footer has impressed the management team with his composure during his time at the club, starting the league matches with Scunthorpe United and Rochdale and being a regular substitute.
Meanwhile goalkeeper Jon Flatt has returned to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The stopper didn't make an appearance for the Spireites but was a regular substitute. The club thanks him for his contribution and wish him well for the future.
