The Chesterfield youth team extended their unbeaten run to ten games with a 3-0 win at home to Notts County on Saturday morning.Jake Beesley scored twice with Lewis Sugden also on target with County forced to play with only ten men for around an hour after having a player sent-off.
The red card was shown after George Milner was fouled on the edge of the area when he was through on goal, resulting in the offending player being ordered off.
From the resulting free-kick, Sugden found the net with a shot across the keeper.
Beesley put the Spireites further ahead around the hour-mark with a neat finish inside the area.
Shortly after, Beesley struck again to round off the scoring with a header from Derek Daly's left-wing cross.
Coach Mark Smith was pleased to keep the unbeaten run going, but feels that his young charges were not at their best. "I think we can do better," he said. "We face Notts County again next week and we're looking forward to the match."
The game was marred by a half-time fracas involving players and coaching staff.
