Tom Brocklehurst, president of the Derbyshire County Football Association, celebrated his 100th birthday at the Proact Stadium recently with family and friends.
Tom, who was appointed president of Derbyshire County FA in 2000, was involved with Holymoorside FC and amateur leagues in Chesterfield and has spent much of his 100 years devoted to football.
Still an active member of the Holymoorside community, Tom's birthday celebrations attracted far more friends than the Leengate Legends Lounge was expecting, well-wishers packed in to pass on their congratulations.
Ian Stevens, a friend of Tom's, said: "Mr Brocklehurst was also the president of the Derbyshire Saturday league, who has always spent his life focusing on local football. He has also been involved with Holymoorside FC and the Chesterfield and District Amateur League.
"As his health has deteriorted over the last two years he has found it harder to attend meetings and games - when he was 100% healthy he was a regular attender at meetings and football finals."
