Saturday's result at Peterborough United on Saturday was not what was wished for, but the travelling Spireites fans will have been pleased to see Drew Talbot make another steady performance.
Having missed the best part of a year with a complicated groin injury, the long-serving full-back returned from a fitness-boosting loan spell at Plymouth Argyle and has performed confidently in his two Spireites matches.
After Saturday's Abax Stadium encounter Talbot talked through his return to the Chesterfield first team and how he's feeling after another 90 minutes.
"I feel brilliant," said Talbot. "The whole idea of me to go out on loan was to get minutes and get my match fitness up. It took me a good few games down there to find my feet.
"I was just finding my form again when the phone call came to come home, and I was quite happy with that.
"I'm glad to be playing for Chesterfield again, it was a period of time when I didn't think I'd be playing again so I'm grateful to Plymouth for what they did for me and I'm grateful to be back here playing again.
"I've had nothing to worry about at all, I can't feel it - it's more the other parts of my body that are sore compared to the injury that I've had. I want to maintain myself until the end of the season, which will be difficult as I've not really had a pre-season. These games are probably like a pre-season for me, so I'm only going to get stronger as I go on."
Positive news on the injury front, but Saturday's left-back was less pleased with the result with the Posh.
He said: "Everyone's a bit deflated, we started off brilliantly in the first half and hour but couldn't get the goal. Then they scored a fortunate goal - probably a bit sloppy from us.
"It's frustrating, probably we deserved a win but you've got to put the ball in the back of the net and sadly that didn't happen today."
