Following his return to Sheffield Wednesday following a spell on loan at the Proact, Caolan Lavery thanked Chesterfield for giving him the chance to play first-team football.
Lavery said: “They gave me the chance to come here and play games and hopefully it was good for both sides all round. It took a while for me to get going, coming into a new team, but I thought I started to do well towards the end.
"Me and the lads started to get an understanding with each other and I enjoyed every minute of it. It’s a good club, I knew that before I came here. I hope the lads go on and get to the play-offs."
Manager Paul Cook praised the striker and wished him well. “I thought Caolan was excellent on Saturday and one of our shining lights,” said Cook. “He did very well for us in his time here and we thank Sheffield Wednesday for letting us have him. We wish Caolan all the best for the future."
