The Chesterfield FC Community Trust is one of the three nominated charities to be Sainsbury's local charity partner for the next year - and you can vote for us!
This week Chester the Field Mouse was joined by Peter Whiteley from the Community Trust in going to Sainsbury's and voting for the Trust at the supermarket on Rother Way.
Peter explained about the relationship between the Trust and Sainsbury's: "We do quite a lot of work with Sainsbury's: we've done some school visits with them and they have come down to work with us at The HUB - but this is the first time we've been nominated to be their charity for the year.
"We've gone to them and told them about the work we do away from football, the work with education, the work with health and older people and those are the sorts of things that we do in the community that Sainsbury's want to be a part of."
Customers can pop into the supermarket or vote online here during June and Sainsbury's will announce its charity partner for the coming year in July.
By becoming their local charity partner Sainsbury's will work with the club's charity arm in fundraising and community activities.
Peter spoke more about what the relationship could mean to the trust: "We'd have a year-long partnership with Sainsbury's as their official charity and we'd do various events with them.
"It would be up to us what we did together over the course of the year, but it would be a tremendous opportunity to put the message of what we're doing out to the wider public."
