Mal Purchase has been named as Chesterfield's new strength & conditioning coach.Purchase, who has latterly been employed by Indian I-League side Bengaluru, previously worked with Spireites manager Dean Saunders at Doncaster Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Purchase, who will put the players through their paces when they report for the start of pre-season training on Wednesday, said: "I'm joining a good club and I can't wait to get started. The manager demands high standards, as I do, and we work hard to get the best out of players."
Saunders said: "Mal is a top strength & conditioning coach and we work well together. You will see a difference in the players once Mal has worked with them in pre-season."
Purchase replaces fitness coach Shane Nicholson, who left the club following Paul Cook's departure. Saunders has also brought in Brian Carey as his assistant and Mark Crossley as goalkeeper coach.
