New signing Sylvan Ebanks-Blake popped into the Proact today for his first official Chesterfield photoshoot and to speak with Spireites Player after joining the club.
The 29-year-old joins the club having spent the second part of last season with play-off winners Preston North End, and he spoke about how his move to the Proact Stadium came about.
"I just spoke to the manager [Dean Saunders], he gave me a call and made his intentions clear from pretty much the day after the Wembley final. I've worked with him before and it's been seamless to this point really."
Ebanks-Blake spent five years at Molineux plundering goals for Wolverhampton Wanderers, and it was during that period that the striker worked with current Spireites boss Saunders and was impressed with what he experienced.
"He gets out on the training pitch," said Ebanks-Blake. "And can still find the back of the net! He's a lively manager, a passionate manager and he has a certain way that he wants to play and set up. I believe that we're going to have a successful period.
"It's always good having a former striker as your manager because he'll be urging the players to get the ball into the box so the strikers can score the goals.
"He was a top player in his day and he's a top manager now, I'm delighted to be here."
