The Chesterfield FC Shadow Squad will compete in the H-K-L U21s Division this season.
Other teams playing in the league include Sheffield United U21, Sheffield FC U21 and Staveley Miners Welfare U21, with the season starting towards the end of August.
Chesterfield Shadow Squad’s home games will be played at Staveley Miners Welfare’s Inkersall Road ground on Monday nights.
Commenting on the decision to include a team in the division, Chesterfield’s head of academy recruitment, Liam Sutcliffe, said: “The side will primarily be made up of members of our U18 shadow squad, but some young professionals might be involved on occasions.
“The league will provide extra games at a competitive level and challenge the youngsters on a weekly basis, which will aid their development as players. I’d like to thank Staveley Miners Welfare chairman Terry Damms for agreeing to host our games.”
Damms, managing director of H-K-L Specialists Ltd, who sponsor the league, is delighted that Chesterfield are represented. He said: “As always, SMWFC will assist Chesterfield wherever possible. It’s a well-run league with some excellent teams and their inclusion will improve it further. It will also provide Chesterfield with first-hand opportunities to see if there is another local non-league gem out there.”
Admission to the games at Inkersall Road will be charged at £2 for adults and £1 for concessions.
