Aaron Chapman is set to be given the all-clear to step up his rehabilitation programme.
The 25-year-old keeper was due to have an appointment with a specialist today (Wednesday), eight weeks after undergoing surgery on an ankle ligament injury.Chapman has been doing some light training and the club's head of sports science & medicine, Rodger Wylde, expects him to resume full training in around four weeks' time.
Wylde said: "I am happy with Aaron's progress. He has worked hard and he will be fitter and leaner when he comes back, ready to challenge for a first-team place."
Chapman's solitary senior appearance to-date for Chesterfield came in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at Scunthorpe United last September. He had a spell on loan at Accrington Stanley last season.
