The balls are out in Portugal and the coaching staff are putting the Spireites first team squad through their paces at their Algarve training camp.

The squad flew off to the sun last weekend, and will return this Saturday, ahead of their Proact Stadium appearance at the club's open day this coming Sunday.

The club's director of development/recruitment Paul Mitchell spoke to defender Ian Evatt to find out how he and the squad are finding their time away from home.

Paul Mitchell: It's your first day full day training on grass, how do you think it's going so far?

Ian Evatt: It's been fantastic so far, you only have to look about to see the facilities we're in - we're very lucky that they've taken us to these facilities.

The Staff have been brilliant, it's been different every day and the lads are really enjoying it, working really hard.

PM: Would you say it's easy for boredom to set in when you're spending so much time together?

IE: No definitely not, we're footballers and at the end of the day we're here to focus, work, train and improve our games.

We've got some new staff here that are giving us new ideas and great training sessions so all the lads are focused, working really hard and improving.
