The latest report received from Football League Interactive shows that the club's official website is continuing to perform well. With over 63,000 unique visitors to the website last month, Chesterfield are in 42nd place out of 90 clubs contracted to FLi.
The Spireites attracted more visitors to their website in December than the likes of Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers, Preston North End, Plymouth Argyle and Bradford City.
The social conversion rate of 13.4 per cent (percentage of links to the website from Facebook and Twitter), also makes for impressive reading, putting Chesterfield in a lofty ninth position.
The average visits of 2.4 per user for the month puts Chesterfield in 18th place in that category, beating a number of Premiership and Championship clubs, including Leicester City, West Brom, Wolves and Derby County.
As well as being the only online source of official news from the Spireites, the website also generates valuable commercial revenue for the club.
Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner said: "In my opinion, we have two of the best media people in the Football League in Nick Johnson and Iain Pearce and the impressive figures received from Football League Interactive back-up my belief.
"Despite the fact that we only have a very small media team, assisted by a couple of students on placement from the University of Huddersfield, we are out performing clubs with greater resources.
"Nick and Iain work day and night to provide accurate, up-to-date news via the website and social media channels, which also continue to thrive. Our Facebook page is close to achieving 50,000 'likes' and we have nearly 30,000 followers on Twitter.
"Inaccurate stories often emerge from independent online sources so I would urge supporters to visit the official website and follow the social media channels to be sure of receiving the latest news coming out of the club."
