Spireites right back Tendayi Darikwa put in another strong personal performance as his side swept Crawley Town aside 3-0 on Tuesday night.
On paper, beating the side sitting bottom of the League 1 table might not seem overly impressive, but off the back of two tough defeats at strong opposition the match carried extra relevance.
An Eoin Doyle double and a second half Jay O'Shea belter gave the Spireites the points and moved them up into fifth in the table.
After the match Darikwa explained that his teammates had never expected an easy evening's work.
He said: "We knew it was going to be a difficult day, they're down there scrapping for their lives and no team battling down there is going to come and lie down.
"We knew that if we stuck to our game we'd hopefully get the three points and thankfully we have."
Darikwa has excelled in recent games, putting in a particularly strong display at Derby County in the FA Cup, but the Nottingham-native is just happy to be in the team.
"I'm enjoying my football," said Darikwa. "I've always said that I'm happy to be playing in any position, that doesn't matter to me, I'm aiming to keep improving and putting in good performances for the team and for the club."
Another Spireites bonus on the night was the return to first team action of Drew Talbot, who has suffered with a long-standing groin injury layoff. While Darikwa and Talbot share a position, the incumbent right back is pleased to see his colleague back.
He said: "Drew's been back in training for a while now but it's good to see him back out on the pitch. He's helped me a lot through my career from helping me as a young lad and I've learned a few things from him so it's good to see him back.
"I used to play in front of Drew when I was on the right side of midfield. I've stepped in there since he's been injured, but now it's good to see him getting some minutes."
