Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker entertained the Proact Stadium last night in the latest All-Star Events sporting dinner to be held at the stadium.
Guests enjoyed a three course meal in the stadium's Leengate Legends Lounge and heard Saunders tell stories from his vast and varied career, including anecdotes on legendary football custodians Brian Clough and Ron Atkinson.
The current interim manager at Crawley Town kept his arrangement to come to the Proact even after taking up his recent position with the West Sussex side.
The night also featured Bolton comedian Terry Cotta, pulling few punches in entertaining the crowd after they had finished their meals.
Organiser and MC of the event, Nick Johnson said: "I have received a lot of feedback from people who attended, saying what a great night it was."
The next All-Star Events sporting dinner to take place at the Proact Stadium will see Neil 'Razor' Ruddock come to Chesterfield. Joined by top comedian Jimmy Carol the night promises to be particularly memorable, though not for those easily offended!
