Liam O'Neil made his second start in succession in the narrow loss to Bury, and feels his side showed enough to go to Walsall tomorrow high on confidence.
The FA Cup second round replay comes after the 1-1 draw with the Saddlers at the Proact, the first game after the change in management.
Chesterfield and their West Midlands opponents already know their third round fate, with an away trip to the capital and Championship side Brentford lying in wait for tomorrow's winners.
After the match at Gigg Lane O'Neil was already setting his sights on the match: "The lads aren't down after the game and we're already looking forward to Walsall on Tuesday night. We know that it won't be any easy game there but if we put in a performance we know we'll have a chance.
"We've already won there this season, and while that doesn't mean anything going into the game it does give us the confidence to go there and go for the win."
The August signing has now reached double figures in Spireites appearances and feels his own game is improving the more matches he gets under his belt.
"I did have time at Scunthorpe last season, so I know what this division's about," he said. "But with each game your grow into it more and get to know your team-mates better.
"I'm still improving and working hard and I'm starting to show more what I can do. We've not had the best start to the season but we are all doing our best to push the team forwards."
