Spireites stalwart Ian Evatt will miss up to a month with an Achilles injury picked up in Monday's 1-1 draw with Coventry City. The 34-year-old defender went down in the first half of the Sky Blues match and now faces a spell on the sidelines as he recovers.
Head of sports science and medicine Rodger Wylde explained that the injury is not as bad as first feared.
He said: "Evo felt pain in his right Achilles and said he felt a pop, which suggested a serious injury that could have kept him out for some time.
"We've performed the relevant tests and the injury is not as bad as it might have been, it's a gradual injury that's come from successive wear and tear over recent weeks.
"We hope that Evo will be back in three to four weeks, but we will need to monitor the injury to keep on top of it. If it is taking longer than we expect to recover than we have the option of an injection to speed-up the process."
