After the appointment of Danny Wilson as the new Chesterfield manager, chairman Dave Allen welcomed him to the club.
Wilson was confirmed as the Spireites manager on Christmas Eve, with the new boss watching from the stands at Peterborough United on Boxing Day before talking his place in the dugout two days later for the visit of Coventry City.
After appointing his new manager Allen said: "We wish Danny every success at the club. After much discussion we had a meeting with him and after that we knew that he was the man we felt could take this club forwards.
"We've seen what Danny can do at a number of clubs and we're excited to see what he will do at ours."
Chief executive Chris Turner also spoke about Wilson, who he has known for many years and worked alongside: "I like how Danny operates, having worked with him previously at Hartlepool and he has a great deal of experience.
“There was a lot of interest in the job and we carefully considered our options before deciding that Danny was the ideal man to take the club forward.”
