The Chesterfield youth team continue their campaign in the North East Youth Alliance league tomorrow with an away fixture against local rivals Mansfield Town.
The Spireites have had a testing start to the season with no points from their opening two games, but manager Mark Smith believes his team can finally get their season started with a victory on Saturday, after narrow losses to Scunthorpe and Bradford City in their two previous matches.
Smith said: "The fact that they're only a couple of miles down the road gives us that extra added incentive to win. We've trained well this week despite it being a bit disjointed with the GCSE results.
"I think most of the lads did alright and got the results they wanted so hopefully they can take that positivity into the game."
With the previous two games ending 3-2 and 4-3, Smith joked that with the luck his side were having, they would probably lose 5-4. But he wasn't all negative in his approach to Saturday's game, which kicks off at 11am.
'We're looking to get the season started," he said. "We have lost two but they have been really tight games and could've gone either way so hopefully tomorrow, the result goes our way."
