This week Soccer AM paid a visit to the Spireites' training ground as Dean Saunders went head-to-head with Jimmy Bullard in a strikers' skill challenge.
Chesterfield fans can see who came out on top this Saturday morning as Soccer AM returns with its first episode of the new football season.
John Fendley - more commonly known as 'Fenners' - takes over as the show's new presenter, joining Helen Chamberlain, and he spoke during his afternoon filming with the Spireites.
He said: "It's a new feature for Soccer AM called ' You Know the Drill' where we come to a football club, speak to a manager, coach or a player and they talk us through a skills drill that actually exists. It's not a drill we've made up, they're drills that are actually used by the clubs.
"The idea is that fans can watch the drill, try it at home or in their local park and see how they get on with it, maybe some people at home will be even better than the pros.
"We asked Dean here at Chesterfield to help us out and he invited us along to do a strikers' drill, which is very very tough: needing stamina, technique and being against the clock as well."
"For the first feature we've got Dean with Liverpool, Galatasaray and Oxford United on his CV, coming up against Jimmy 'Bulldog' Bullard who is technically very proficient. People forget how good a footballer Jimmy was, as well as being a great personality - coming down to Chesterfield has been a great way to start this feature and the new season."
Before taking on the drill challenge, Saunders and Bullard squared-up in a bit of trash talking.
"I'm ready to take on Jimmy in this Soccer AM challenge," said Saunders. "I'm sure he's still got the skills he had when he was playing - he's only 36, he should still be playing now."
Bullard said: "To be fair, you can see that Deano's probably still quicker than me so I can't see this being easy, I'll give it a go, hope my knees hold up and look to wipe the floor with him!"
Tune in to Sky Sports 1 from 10am this Saturday to see who out of Dean and Jimmy is crowned the first 'You Know the Drill' champion.
