Three young players from Chesterfield’s feeder club in Gibraltar, Europa Point, recently visited the Proact Stadium to experience life at a professional club.
Andrew Pishu Hernandez, Antonio Jimenez and Alexis Sanchez viewed the facilities and took in the game against Crewe Alexandra. They also trained with the club’s development centre players and Sanchez came on as a substitute in a private practice match.
Chesterfield’s head of recruitment, Paul Mitchell, said: “The trip will have provided the lads with a great experience. They will have found out about what it takes to be a professional footballer.
“I am in regular contact with Europa Point chairman John Gontier, who keeps me informed of developments over there and the link-up is proving to be mutually beneficial.”
