Spireites manager Paul Cook has been nominated for the Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month Award for April.

The nominations are as follows:

Paul Cook (Chesterfield)

While other teams faltered, Cook drove Chesterfield on to secure the final play-off spot in League 1. Three wins in four games at the beginning of April included a 6-0 win over Colchester United as the Spireites seized their chance.

Steve Cotterill (Bristol City)

A fourth successive monthly nomination for Cotterill and his sixth in total this season says everything about the consistent excellence of his side. April saw City earn 12 points from six unbeaten games, win promotion and secure the League 1 title.

Simon Grayson (Preston North End)

His calm demeanour and consistency were the keys to Preston’s consolidation of second place in the table with 15 points from seven unbeaten games. They included 3-0 wins over Bradford City and Swindon Town in what was a difficult run of fixtures.

Karl Robinson (MK Dons)

Guided his side through a month of crushing dominance as they closed in on the automatic promotion places. The Dons gained 19 points from a possible 21 with a 20-3 goal differential, winning five games by at least two goals.

The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery
