Jesse McClure, star of TV's Storage Hunters, visited Chesterfield's own Proact Stadium and met the manager and some of the Spireites players.
The Los Angeles native received 'soccer' advice from defender Sam Hird and went into detail about what he knows about Chesterfield.
McClure said: "I know someone made an 'whoops' on the church, so I'm aware of that.
"Also you guys have pretty good breakfast sandwiches. I've had one of those from a small local cafe so we're off to a good start so far."
McClure explained how his Storage Hunters TV show works and why people might be interested in it.
He said: "It's basically 30 minutes of me punching people in the face, and also a little bit of storage auctions going on, where several people bid on storage units that have been unpaid for and the highest bidder takes home the contents of what's inside.
"You never know what it's inside, so it's a bit of a surprise and that's what makes the show exciting."
After visiting the Proact Stadium McClure set off to see a bit more of Chesterfield, a prospect that he was looking forward to.
He said: "I'm really excited to see more of the town and so far you guys have treated me well so I'm having a great time and I'm looking for more."
At some point in the new year it is hoped that McClure will be returning to the Proact Stadium for another appearance, with Spireites fans being able to meet and chat with the TV star.
