Sam Clucas has spoken of his delight at joining Chesterfield from rivals Mansfield Town.
The 23-year-old attacking player has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract after the clubs agreed an undisclosed deal.
He said: "It's nice to be here and I can't wait to get started. I'm excited to be joining a club in a higher division.
"They're a very good passing side, as I saw when I played against them last season. I remember walking off the pitch thinking they were like the Barcelona of League Two! The club is going places and I want to be involved in that."
Manager Paul Cook said: "I'm really delighted because he's a player we've tracked for a long time. We missed out on him last year when he joined Mansfield. Finally the two clubs came to an agreement. There was a bit of give and take on both sides.
"He's a very talented young boy who'll only make us a stronger squad. He's another player who comes into our squad with goals."
Clucas, 23, scored 13 goals in 49 appearances for Mansfield after signing for them from Hereford United last summer.
