Speaking after the match with Sheffield United, midfielder Jimmy Ryan toasted the atmosphere and the match result.
Ryan opened the scoring with a first half thunderbolt, though the Spireites conceded twice late-on in a nervy finish.
The midfielder said: "It was a great atmosphere today and a great game, we let in two silly goals at the end but overall we're happy with the game."
The Liverpudlian talked through his goal, his first of the current campaign.
He said: "I just remember Jay O'Shea getting it not far outside the box and I saw a lot of lads going towards him and it opened up for me so I gave him a good scream because I knew he was wanting to shoot himself.
"He's put a lovely set-up for me, just how I wanted it, I gave it my best and thankfully it's gone in."
One of the key components of the Spireites' success over the last 18 months has been the midfield partnership Ryan has forged with Sam Morsy, and Ryan explained how the two of them operate.
He said: "Playing all last year we know how each play, we know our strengths and we know what each other can do. It's nice to have someone in there who's familiar with how I play and me with him.
"He's a great player, everyone knows that, so hopefully we can keep on doing it on the pitch."
Saturday's result lifted Chesterfield to sixth in the League One table, though Ryan says that expectations are not something the players get caught up on.
He said: "We don't really talk about it too much. We know our aims and we know what we want to do. We're not in this league to make up the numbers.
"We want to be pushing for the playoffs, promotion and winning the league- we have the hunger. We loved it last year, we know how it felt and this year we want it to continue."
